Roy Ascott
Roy Ascott’s first London exhibition was in 1964, along with the publication of "Behaviourist Art and the Cybernetic Vision" (Cybernetica).

His early analogue work called for the viewer’s physical interaction. A progenitor of Telematic Art, his first online projects were Terminal Art -USA/UK, in 1980; La Plissure du Texte: a planetary fairytale for Frank Popper’s Electra, in Paris (1983); and Aspects of Gaia: Digital Pathways across the Whole Earth, Ars Electronica 1989. Many online/installation projects have followed at: V2 Institute for the Unstable Media; Milan Triennale; European Media Festival; Venice Biennale; Biennale do Mercosul, Brazil.

Cybernetics also informed his Groundcourse in London early 1960s, and the subsequent radical (shortlived!) restructuring of OCAD Toronto, as its President. Kansai Yamamoto
Born in 1944. As the first Japanese fashion designer to hold a collection show in London, his '71 London debut brought him an international spotlight and a long friendship with top artists like David Bowie, Sir Elton John and Stevie Wonder. Kansai's unique avant-garde fashion design won an overwhelming popularity among trend sensitive young population throughout the world. After participating in '74 Paris Collection and '70 NY Collection, Kansai launched "Boutique Kansai" in major cities around the world including Paris, Milan, NY, Madrid, founding himself as an international fashion designer. At the same time, Kansai constantly pushed the horizon of conventional notion of fashion shows; unusual cast, bold and large scale stage sets…always in pursuit of expressing the wonderful strength of human energy. Kansai chose to step beyond the framework of fashion designer, to challenge the world audience in the field of live event producing.

His recent accomplishments include "KANSAI SUPERSHOW - HELLO! RUSSIA ", held in Moscow's Red Square in '93 drawing a crowd of 120,000, succeeding to be the largest scale event in the Red Square since the end of the WW2. In '95, Kansai's supershow, "Hello! VIETNAM" staged over Lake Bai Mau in Hanoi City's Lenin Park, drew in an astonishing 200,000 crowd. In '97, "HELLO! INDIA" drew in 50,000 crowds, was satellite broadcast to 54 nations from Nehru Stadium, New Delhi. All these shows had a common theme of "PEOPLE-the wonderful creature", aiming at a heart - to - heart exchange of nations and people. The shows won an overwhelming support of the audience as the largest class events in each nation and an important contribution to international communication. At home in Japan, Kansai has continued on to produce successful supershows starting with "HELLO! JAPAN" in year 2000 mobilizing one thousand volunteers at Nagara River Stadium in Gifu Prefecture. Executive produced the opening event for the 2001 "Internet Expo". For the Yamaguchi Kilala Expo ( Yamaguchi Prefecture 21th Century Future Expo2001), he produced " Yamaguchi GENKI Legend" which was staged at its main venue and drew in 680,000 audience over 79 days, introducing a new form of live event in expos. The opening live event for "11th World Congress on ITS - Nagoya, Aichi 2004" has recently ended in raving success, leading now to the opening event for "EXPO2005 AICHI JAPAN" in March 2005. The Supershow, "Abordage" was staged in July 2004 at Tokyo's prestigious Nippon Budokan, The spectacle show overlaps Kansai's own life with the unyielding spirit of Hijikata, the vice captain of Shinsengumi troop, the special forces to the last Shogun. The documentary film "Abordage," marking the path to the realization of the supershow was screened at the 55th Berlin International Film Festival in February 2005 as its special program, together with a live event produced by Kansai. The film is now being shown throughout Japan together with his live talk show, titled, "Abordage! Japan Tour."

He produced the cheering event entitled "Katsuzo (We Will Win!)" on May 13th, 2006, for Japan national football team going to Germany to compete in FIFA World Cup. The event ignited the excitement of the supporters gathering in the stadium. On January 13th and 14th, 2007, he directed "Kansai Super Show- Taiyo no Fune (the sun vessel)" in Tokyo Dome, which drew an audience of 42000 and won applause as an unprecedented successful event. In July, 2008, "Festival of life" was held as the main event of the Japan Week in Zaragoza International Expo. Most recently, "Atsuki Kokoro - Passionate Heart ~ Kansai Genki-Ism ~" which was held in Edo Tokyo Museum in 2008 is being held from Jan. 10th 2009 in Otsuka Museum of Art in Tokushima. On May 23th, 2009, "FESTIVAL OF LIFE" was held in the Indonesian island of Bali. He continues to be involved in various activities in a variety of fields. He is a general producer of place and social event for G8 Toyako Hokkaido Summit, and also he is on the Art and Culture Council of Tokyo, Advisor of Tokyo 2016 Bid Committee and visiting professor at Kokushikan University and Tokyo Metropolitan University.

RUSSIA"와 95년 20만이라는 놀라운 숫자의 관중이 참석한 Hanoi 시 Lenin 광장의 Bai Mau 호수에서 열린 Kansai의 Supershow "Hello! VIETNAM" 이 있으며 97년 New Delhi의 Nehru 스타디움에서 열린 "HELLO!

Art and Culture Council of Tokyo에 속해있고 Waseda, Kokushikan, Tokyo Metropolitan University의 초빙 교수에 재직중이다.
